Before now, If you want to share a video with someone but you need to get rid of the audio for any reason then you need to make use of an online tool like Google Photos, Instagram, or other gallery apps which can be space and time-consuming.

WhatsApp beta v2.21.3.13 now has a small speaker icon attached below the video duration on the edit screen. All you have to do is to toggle it off to mute the video as you send it across to users.

It’s quite easy to use.

This mute button will appear irrespective of the app you used in recording the video either within WhatsApp or not. So if you’re sharing a video from another source or it’s the one you’ve taken with your phones’ camera; you can still remove the sound.

According to WABetaInfo, this option may be available for users using the previous version of the app but it’s advisory that you get upgraded to the latest version to be sure.

Simply update your whatsapp app to enjoy the feature.

However, if you’re already signed up for the beta program through the play store, the update should have been rolled out to you already.
