1. Cancel the Payment
You can only cancel a payment if it is still pending. Payments on Cash App are usually instantaneous, and once they are processed, you cannot cancel them. However, if the payment is still pending, locate the transaction in your transaction history and click on it. If the transaction status shows as pending, you can cancel it by clicking on the “Cancel Payment” option.

- Log into your Cash App and click on the little clock icon to see the history of transactions.
- Look for the transaction and click on the payment.
- If you see that the status still says pending or under the pending transactions, you’re going to be able to cancel it.
- You should click right where it says pending and it should give you the option to click cancel payment right there.

2. Request a Refund
If the payment has already been completed, you can try to request a refund. Go to your transaction history and locate the transaction. Click on the three-dot menu at the top and select “Request a refund”

If you request a refund this way and the person refuses to send your refund, you can contact Cash App but I don’t guarantee you’ll get your money back.
This is because Cash App is not meant for buying and selling and is only meant for sending to people that you know, so there is no buyer protection.

3. Contact your Bank
If you sent a payment through Cash App from a linked bank account and not from your Cash App balance then you have got the third option of contacting your bank.
Through your bank, you can dispute the Transaction through Cash App and the bank will reverse the charge for you.
But here’s the catch. If your bank reverses the charge to Cash App, Cash App might make your account balance go negative and ask you to repay that money. If you don’t repay the money, your Cash App Account will likely be closed.
